sINGLE MOM cONFESSIONS
Have you ever thought about having financial stability, or wondered why some moms seem to have a handle on the single mom life? Perhaps you may want to make a plan to financial freedom, but don't know where to start or how to execute? Like you, I struggle with financial stability, being a single mom, and overwhelmed with unessential clutter in my life.
A while ago I asked women in several Facebook groups what they were struggling with and majority answered, how to be a single mom. They also stated that they were struggling with things like , depression, financial stability, better time management, and better self-care. I'm sure it's something a lot of other single moms struggle with as well.
And that's how The Single Moms Survival Kit was born!
In the Single Moms Survival Kit I share tips on how to eliminate unessential financial clutter, how to get better time management through meal planning, encouraging you to share light household chores with your tiny human helpers while making it rewarding, and setting the path for better self care!
Here's what the Single Moms Survival Kit Includes:
As stated in my post, How to Kick Debt in the Ass, eliminate the unessential that takes up too much of your money with no value in return. Sitting down and acknowledging all of your expenses can be quite overwhelming I know, but it's a necessary step towards financial stability. You should also make a habit of keeping a daily expense dairy to keep track of your everyday expenses and weak spots.
With this kit you will begin your journey going through at least 3 months of bank statements and write out your disposable expenses. Average out how much you spend on items in clothing, entertainment, debts (credit cards and loans), grocery, restaurants so you can see the big picture, and begin to cut unnecessary expenses from there.
Stick with Simplicity
Stick to the things that you absolutely need to survive like groceries, gas or public transportation money, medications, vitamins, kids necessities, dry cleaning and personal care. Toss unessential expenses like fast food and dinners out, magazine subscriptions, movies, and new clothes. You don't NEED them! This just a basic list, and will have to be personalized to fit you.
Remember only spend money on things you truly need; I can not express this enough. In moments of temptation, refer back to your worksheets for a reminder of the outcome you are working towards achieving. Let's get some self control!
Meal Plan Like a Boss
Creating a meal plan so far in advance can seen a little daunting at first, but planning ahead can really pay off. You'll get both peace of mind and have better time management. It may take a little time to get use to, but the benefits are definitely worth it! You'll also save money when you grocery shop because you've already planned out your meals for the week, so mid-week trips to the grocery store are no longer needed. This also saves you from picking up items you absolutely don't need.
Kids Weekly Chore List
Parenting is hard; single parenting is even more challenging. We manage so much day-to-day, and we often downplay how much help we need. Let's makes chores a little more fun and reward them for their efforts. This way, they will also take pleasure in their work.
Create a weekly system where your child completes the checklist and is then rewarded at the end of the week. It’s a total win-win for both you and your child. Visit my printable library to get the calendar (calendar comes undated, but you must purchase your own stickers ) below to go with the checklist in your kit!
We are naturally accustomed to leggings and sweat pants. They're just so damn comfortable. Sometimes I have to force myself to go out and socialize which seems like a job itself. I had to start giving myself permission to have fun, a ditch the guilty feeling at the bottom of my stomach. I give you permission to take some time for you! Make more of an effort to treat yourself as far as trips, shopping, mani-pedi's, movies, etc. Connect with current, new friends, and more mommy friends.
With the Mommy Time worksheet you will create morning and evening routines/rituals to add a little more time for yourself, because you are important too. Getting away from your responsibilities for a few hours is a total sanity saver. I promise you won't regret it. We will spend our whole lives doing for our children, but we still must take care of our physical and mental health.
There are women like you who decide they are going to accomplish their goals and actively work to get the peace of mind they crave. Take control of your life. With the system you can eliminate your stressors by identifying what's most important. Get your Single Moms Survival Kit today!
